
The IIT Roorkee Alumni Association Nepal Chapter (IITRAAN) successfully organized the IITRAAN Gala Evening 2026 on 25 July 2026 at Hotel Shanker, Lazimpat, Kathmandu, with the support of the Embassy of India in Nepal. Held under the theme “Connection • Culture • Community,” the event was attended by approximately 150 alumni, dignitaries, and distinguished guests.
IITRAAN President Er. Om Raut welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of strengthening professional relationships, institutional cooperation and fellowship among IIT Roorkee alumni in Nepal. One of the major highlights of the evening was the felicitation of the senior-most alumni of IITRAAN, Er. Shankar Krishna Malla and Er. Bhubanesh Kumar Pradhan, in recognition of their longstanding association, professional achievements and valuable contributions to the alumni community. The felicitation was jointly conducted by the dignitaries present on the dais. Er. Umesh Malla and Er. Mohan Shakya also delivered a presentation on the historical contributions of IIT Roorkee alumni to Nepal’s infrastructure development and other professional sectors.

Glimpses of Development Activities
The gathering was addressed by senior alumni Er. Bhubanesh Kumar Pradhan. The keynote address was delivered by the Chief Guest, H.E. Mr. Naveen Srivastava, Ambassador of India to Nepal.
A cultural program presented courtesy of the Embassy of India further enriched the evening. The formal session concluded with a vote of thanks by IITRAAN Joint Secretary Er. Unamman Pradhan, followed by networking and dinner. The event provided an important platform for reconnecting alumni, celebrating their contributions and strengthening the IIT Roorkee alumni community in Nepal.
