About Us

The association was initially registered with the government of Nepal in 2002 AD as the IIT Roorkee Thomason Alumni Association Nepal Chapter. The founding committee in 1997 AD comprised of Col. Hem Bahadur Karki (President), Ratna Man Shrestha (First Vice President), Hari Om Shrestha (Second Vice President), Keshab Mangal Joshi (General Secretary), Bal Krishna Shrestha (Treasurer), Jyoti Prasad Pradhan (Joint Secretary), Daibagya R. Bajracharya, Prafulla M.S. Pradhan and Rattan Kumar Siddhi.

The association endeavors to undertake, inter alia, the following activities:

  1. Motivate its members to participate in the activities of IIT Roorkee and IITRAAN,
  2. Promote contacts, communication and goodwill among the members,
  3. Disseminate information on IIT Roorkee’s events and activities,
  4. Facilitate provision of or provide scholarships and essential supports for students studying in education institutions in Nepal,
  5. Enhance skills and knowledge of its members through organizing trainings and related activities, and
  6. Strive to and support establishing essential facilities and infrastructures for conducting activities for the welfare of its members.
