Mr. Biswa Kumar Balla is a Senior Bridge Design Consultant with more than 20 years of experience in Bridge Design and Construction Support. Mr. Balla graduated from the IIT Roorkee in 2001 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering; and Masters of Science in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from NC State University in 2007.

Mr. Balla took an entry-level Civil Engineering position at Himal Integrated Consultancy Pvt. Ltd in 2001. Mr. Balla had an opportunity to work in detailed design of Tadi Khola bridge and Kolpu Khola bridge in Galchhi-Trishuli road. During 2001-2005, Mr. Balla had been involved in various other roles including Site Engineer in Mount View Residency; and as Lecturer in Pokhara Engineering College and Khwopa Engineering College teaching Bachelor level Civil Engineering and Architecture students. After completing Master’s degree in 2007, Mr. Balla joined ADB-funded CMIASP project as Environmental Safeguard and Monitoring Specialist.

Mr. Balla was involved in the design of four design-build bridge projects (Benighat Bridge, Kothiyaghat Bridge, Dasdhunga Bridge and Tamakoshi Bridge). In the subsequent years, Mr. Balla worked as Bridge Design Engineer in Local Roads Bridge Support Unit (LRBSU) and as Associate Project Consultant in L&T Infra Engineering Limited (IEL). During his tenure in IEL, Mr. Balla worked in Detailed design of Kachhi-Dargah bridge, Tender Engineering of Delhi Metro Phase IV, New MG Setu Bridge, Delhi-Vadodara Expressway PKG-11, Phaphamau Bridge.

Mr. Balla is currently Founding Director of A&A Infrastructure Engineering Pvt. Ltd. He is involved in Kathmandu-Terai Fast Track Projects, Mugling-Narayanghat Bridge Project, Madi River Bridge project along Tribhuvan Highway and various other bridge design projects.
