Mr. Prem Kumar Srivastava is a Hydraulic/ Water Resources Engineer having more than 30 years of experience in planning, design and construction supervision of civil engineering works, water resources and irrigation projects. He graduated in Civil engineering from IIT Roorkee, India (formerly University of Roorkee) in 1985 and Master of Science in Water Resources Engineering, Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk campus, Tribhuvan University in 2003. He is specialised in planning, design and construction supervision of major and minor irrigation projects, river training projects and large-scale water resources development work. He was involved many years in contract administration and management, procurement of works and services and monitoring the progress of the projects.

He joined as an Engineer in Department of Irrigation and its various projects. During this period, he worked in major projects such as Bagmati Irrigation Project, Sikta Irrigation Project as an engineer and Rani Jamara Kulariya irrigation project, People Embankment Programme, Mahendranagar as a senior divisional engineer. Major works emphasized during this period are planning, design, procurement of goods and services and construction supervision of headworks, intakes, canal system, bridge, irrigation water management, river training works, gulley stabilization, land reclamation, small scale civil engineering structures and coordinating training programmes. He retired from Government Service in July 2018 and currently working as freelancer. During his freelancing period, he was involved in procurement of technical audit service of Pidari irrigation project Banke, report preparation of river training component of the Lamadanda -lalpur 100 MW solar PV project, Golbazar Sirha, report preparation for different road projects in Bara district under the technical support and career development centre, Nepal.

Mr. Srivastava is a Professional Engineer (PEng), recognized by Nepal Engineering Council. He is also a life member of Nepal Engineering Association.

He has joined many training/seminars such as Mentorship program for IITRAAN, Technical Auditor training organized by National Vigilance centre Nepal. Other trainings /Seminar programmes include water security and climate change for developing Economics organized by National Institute of Hydrology Roorkee and UNESCO New Delhi India Nov 2018, Innovations for Agriculture, DMIE impact evaluation workshop organized by World Bank Kigali Rwanda June 2014, training courses on Water Resources Management for Nepal government officials, organized by KOICA and Kwater, Republic of Korea 2006.
